Albuquerque’s Civic Plaza will host the first Health and Wellness Celebration sponsored by Western Sky Community Care on Saturday, May 18th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., outdoors in the Albuquerque Convention Center complex, 401 2nd Street NW.
The free community event will feature:
- Informational and educational exhibits, plus a Mammogram Van screening
- Yoga, limpias
- Music, food, and activities
- Free herbs to promote holistic health and beach towels for the kiddos enjoying Civic Plaza’s water feature.
"We are pleased to support our community with opportunities to connect with their culture through the use of herbs and natural remedies as alternative medicine options," said Tony Hernandez, President and CEO of Western Sky Community Care. "For centuries many cultures have used simple ingredients to treat wounds, lessen swelling, and manage seasonal allergies. Our aim through the Health & Wellness Celebration is to empower individuals to take control of some of their health needs."
