Important Information for Participating Providers

**Effective immediately**

A recent audit by NM DOH for the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program revealed that some providers are using “penny place holders” ($.01 claim) on their claims. This is problematic in that the DOH VFC Provider Agreement indicates that the providers will not charge for the cost of the vaccine. As a result, Western Sky Community Care will require participating providers to bill a zero charge for that line item. WSCC will not require a participating provider from billing with $0.01.  If a provider submits a claim with such a line item, we will not pay the $.01.
