Welcome to Western Sky Community Care. We thank you for all that you do to provide care to our members. Below are educational opportunities available to you at no cost. Some trainings may be eligible for continuing education. Please see each section for more information.

Western Sky Community Care provides training on behavioral health topics and other related Long Term Care topics relevant to those who work with vulnerable adults in Long Term Care settings. These trainings are offered at no cost to Long-Term Care providers and support the delivery of quality care to our members.

Western Sky Community Care in partnership with Centene Behavioral Health combines state and national expertise to offer training at no cost that is relevant to those who work with and serve our members in Foster Care such as Treatment Foster Care providers, Child Welfare professionals, Foster Care parents, etc.

Navigating the Level of Care (LOC) Guidelines Training: Behavior Health Level of Care Guidelines For Centennial Care MCOs

The purpose of this training is to enhance the understanding of the medical necessity criteria for behavioral health services and how to navigate the Behavior Health Level of Care (LOC) Guidelines For Centennial Care MCOs.  The training will also help Behavioral Health providers and other stakeholders better utilize these guidelines when identifying the most appropriate level of care for members.  This training also provides an overview of the service authorization process and how it relates to the LOC Guidelines.

Training topics offered to all providers and community stakeholders

  • Cultural Competency Webinar: Available to all providers. Attendees learn the effect of cultural differences on health care; ways to recognize different values, beliefs, behaviors and needs when speaking with members; the use of person-first language; and skills for culturally competent communication.

  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA): Youth and Adult MHFA are offered at no cost up to four times a year each at various locations around New Mexico. These trainings are in-person.
